Pakistan now a days is facing major problems regarding its existence in future. Pakistan has potential to survive , we all know about that but our core political system have denied this thing. We are nuclear power but still we are scared of other countries. Because top management of a system is very important ingredient of the "survival recipe". And our top manager is a joke in modern world i.e. Asif Ali Zardari. now i will try to explain our whole system's problems by segregating the whole system in six categories. another thing worth mentioning here is , Abul Kalam Azad had predicted in 1947 that if Pakistan separated from India on religious basis, it would further divide fifty years after its birth. It is ironic that Pakistanis, as a nation, even today, have not been able to find satisfactory solutions to the following problems.
1) social problems that raises economic problems:
i here wanted to share personal experience of my life that my cousin from Australia visited Pakistan and said ," me tmhe btao k pakistan ka masla kya hai ?" , i said ,"btao" and he replied ," pakistan is extremist in every aspect . whether it is a religious issue , an issue regarding a street cricket or international issues. they just wait for the time to react violently over moderate issues. " i said , " example? do bai koi !" and he stunned me by highlighting the fact that couldn't be denied by any one living in this country and that was that the rich people are getting richer day by day and poor is getting poor. that was something that defines our system's distribution of wealth , world has moved on to a totally different living style and class and we are still relying on feudal system . pakistan's totwal wealth is owned by 10% people. Army is consuming a major chunk of our GDP and contributing nil. this is a nuclear age , who is afraid of marching armies ???. Pakistanis who went to work in the Middle East in 1970s and 80s, and brought back foreign currency, have also created an economic imbalance and uneven social growth in the country.
2)Educational Issues :
population explosion has caused us a great issue regarding literacy rate of our beloved country. people in rural areas are still unaware of family planning and they think that giving birth is a task that will increase their bravery and valor =P . Quality education is restricted to 25 % of the population and others don't know how to read and write .
3)Issues regarding health:
While many Pakistanis suffer from physical and emotional problems, there is no adequate health care system in place. Many pregnant women remain anemic and there is a high infant mortality rate. Children still suffer from malnutrition because of pervasive poverty. Many patients with emotional problems only see a psychiatrist when they get violent and have a nervous breakdown. Mental illness is still surrounded by visible stigma. Because of lack of health education there is less emphasis on prevention. When I was working in Zanana Hospital in Peshawar I met many infertile couples who went to holy shrines rather than consulting infertility clinics
4) religious problems:
we all know that pakistan is facing issues regarding religion globally. people due to us and afghanistan has termed islam a terrorist practice . people think that islam promotes terrorism. people hate us. why ? . the answer to this million dollar question is that we are people who are not ready for a compromise . if someone is hating you for no reason and then we should learn to ignore that person for a reason . the reason that will enable our next generation to live with the pace this society is moving with . other wise will be left behind. if today a singer incorporates something from Quran in his composition we are ready to kill him. we dont know that much religion for sure and we arent saints as well , we listen to that composition and when no one is there and in society and promote hat-redness outside ???? is this ISLAM?????? .. No islam teaches to be what we are not and dont pretend to be a different person because ALLAH knows what's in our minds and what's on the tongue \!!!!
5)political problem :
People are more familiar with army generals and dictators than democratic minded political leaders. Democracy has not thrived in Pakistan since many religious leaders consider it a Western and un-Islamic system. Social, political and religious intolerance has increased over the decades. It is also sad that popular political leaders like Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto did not die natural deaths, one was hanged and the other assassinated. Many Muslims still dream of a Khilafat where one religious leader will be the life long leader. In 1500 years of history Muslims have not developed any unique political system that can be considered democratic. There are many Muslims who dream of converting others by preaching their brand of religion and there are others who support holy wars.
6)HUMAN RIGHTS PROBLEMS:
Pakistanis have suffered for decades because their human rights have not been protected in the communities as well the courts. Whether they are women or children, Ahmedis or Christians, Shiites or atheists, the rights of minorities are always threatened. The Pakistani Constitution does not ensure equal rights and privileges to all citizens. Pakistan still struggles between the secular British and religious Arabic laws and traditions. Pakistan has not resolved political conflicts between different provinces.
